I think I'll call her ???

Tonight we went to look at some puppies. The plan was to just go and see if we wanted one. If yes, we would buy puppy stuff tomorrow and then bring one home. Ha ha. Casey, usually the voice of reason, decided that it would just be easier to bring her home tonight. She puked in the car, but she's darned cute! She is a little rotund, and has no name, but she's smart and cute and has already stopped whining and gone to sleep!

(The nieces stopped by to meet her)

Oh wow. She is so cute. Definitely a little chubby but before you know it she will be all legs and paws! She has such nice markings. I am not good at naming dogs. I am against naming dogs human names unless they are something people aren't using anymore. I have a friend and a dog friend named Chloe, so that gets comfusing! It also makes it harder for me to choose dog names lol. Nice to see a photo of you. Looks like you are doing well!

I agree with Chatty. Maybe you could name her something old-fashioned - something fun like Eliza or Amelia or Clementine or Eulalie or Hazel or Jemima or Mabel or Nelly... I could go on and on. You know how it is with me and names.

blue- strike Amelia off your list of "old names" because I know a couple of babies under 1 yr with this name. It's popular again. I love Hazel for a baby too, but wouldn't use it because I think there are some Hollywood babies with the name.

It looks like her name is going to be Katie. Come-on Jo...it's got to be something that won't make Casey roll his eyes. I think she might be a little bit more his dog than mine...we'll see. Maybe she's his in the winter and mine in the summer!

Ok Ames, you have to at least get some dewormer for her - and you SHOULD take her for shots depending on what she's had ;) How old is she? I wouldn't be letting her lick your face til you deworm her though ;) Ok now that I got out my manditory vet lecture...
She's so cute!!! she needs a cuter name then katie though....that brings to mind way too many humans :p You could call her something creative like Peek or Sneek or...I'm not that good at naming things eithre :-S

Got it covered, Heather - LaNae's bringing home puppy shots and dewormers from the Farm supply store where she works...and I don't plan to start letting dogs lick my face any time soon. Katie is gonna stick, though. I suggested Willa or Milly in honor of my favorite authors - Willa Cather and Mildred Walker, but Casey had already decided. I'll save those for a horse or the next animal we get to name.

She's so freakin' cute Amy! I want one too, but I'm not sure if I could get a Katie of my own since she sheds and I don't do dog hair. It just doesn't mesh with my black wardrobe. Loved the new abode and am looking forward to using the Sand Hollow exit off the freeway more often!

Um, am I supposed to take that "hint" as truth? Are you expecting another household addition other than the puppy?

Ok, just tell us already! I can't wait any longer.
