Does this image play any role in your childhood memories?
It certainly does for me! And I had every intention of creating an identical memory for Luke, until we discovered Schleich toys. Hand-painted, true to life, detailed, and so very cute! We are slowly collecting...
I've long been strangely proud of the fact that I don't have an expensive coffee habit. It's not really any better to have this retail addiction that involves buying small farm animals. It soon became clear that a barn-raising was in order...
I love it! That first picture- we had that set and Raegan plays with it at my parents' house. I love it!!! Thanks for sharing! And, yes, another get together and more time is definitely in order ;)
Aww...I'd love to get one of those old sets for Lolo...so far no luck, but I did get the original fisher price house with the slide and everything that I remember one of our friends having - farm animals are harder to find second hand though! I did buy one Schleich colt for Lolo for a stocking stuffer at Christmas, and I might continue that as a tradition, I love them too, but I'm far too frugal to buy a collection :P
Sooo cute!! I looked them up on Amazon and I think you should get a tapir for your farm. For some reason that just tickles my funny bone - what other play figure company makes a tapir???? :)
Aww Amy, I just found your blog and I must say....I love it! We bought our 12 year old, Madison, that barn and the other barn at Christmas. D&B had them for 50 percent off one day and we snatched them up. She loves it and all the neighborhood girls come over often to play with it. We even put our baby chicks in it one day and set them in the sun. Soooo cute!!!

Love those as well! They sure are pricey, though. My sister got Liam well on his way to collecting, though.

the animals are a small addiction...i think we have several hundreds of dollars worth...yikes...but they are "forever toys".
I drool over those all the time. They have a really cool cowboys and farm wives under the farm section. I like the Indians too.
Kami has barn envy...once we're neighbors, maybe she can come over and play more often!
