Especially since I found this site with plans for knock-off versions of
some of my favorite pieces of furniture
(I think I have a little blog crush).
Oh, how I also wish I didn't have such a fear of saws in general.
I have yet to master the circular saw and reciprocating saw--
beginner's stuff, really

It is funny you mentioned the Knock Off Wood blog, as I was recently looking at it. Shanty 2 Chic posted about it and got me very interested!
I also like Life in the Fun Lane (http://www.inthefunlane.com/) for furniture painting. Even if the whitewashed look isn't for you, she has a lot of great tips and styles in regards to how to add or subtract from ugly used furniture to make it look amazing.
When you get your DeWalt tools, will you make me some furniture as I too have a fear of saws and losing limbs?
Perhaps we should go in together on some stuff. I'll help you build your stuff, and you can help me build mine.
Man, I wish I lived closer Ames! I just got a router for Christmas, and I just attempted to figure out how to use it for the first time....still have all my fingers, so its all good! I also got a skillsaw as a consolation buy when trev decided he needed a new aircompressor! I have a list of woodworking tools I want thats a mile long! I'm currently browsing for toybox plans so I can make something for Lolo! Come visit, and we can make some stuff!
